Thursday 11th June 2020

Good morning guys! I want to start off this morning by saying a HUGE well done to Joshua, Jamie, Isabella, Jimi, Joshua, Harrison and Theo for completing their work yesterday to an extremely high standard!

English – LO: To identify dialogue, description and action from a specific scene from a text.

Watch the video below which is an extract from the film ‘Wonder’. Once you have watched this, move on to watch the video below for our main English lesson.

Parents and Carers, please be aware, the videos are posted to YouTube, and linked to the website for the children to use.  Due to the restrictions on the YouTube page, we cannot control the adverts which appear at the end of the videos. Please supervise your child, as you see necessary, when watching the clips.  Many Thanks.

Today, you are going to pull your action, dialogue and description from the video you have just watched. You need to split your page up into three sections like I did in the video. I want you to pull information from the video for each of the three sections (action, dialogue and description) and accurately punctuate this.

Maths – LO: To estimate volume using standard units of measure.

Watch the video below for today’s Maths lesson and don’t forget to join in with the starter and activities.

Complete the task below for the group you are in. Don’t forget to show your working out.

SPaG – Log onto Spelling Shed and practise your spellings!

Computing – LO: To design and create content that achieves a specific goal, including presenting information.

Today, we are going to start to create our own webpage of information based on our theme of the Victorian Seaside.

Using the subheadings and information you gathered through research before half term, I want you now to design a website page that provides information about Victorian Seasides. You need to include all of the following information as separate pages:

  • Beach activities
  • Bathing
  • Entertainment
  • Piers
  • Promenading
  • Clothing
  • Resorts
  • Transport into the town

I want you to start designing this by using Powerpoint or Publisher and creating a slide of information for each of the above. Don’t forget to make it colourful, informative and factually correct.

TTRS – Today, you need to log into Times Tables Rockstars and send one of your friends a ‘Rockslam’ challenge. You’ve got to work hard to see if you can beat their score!

PSHE – Empathy – Watch the video again from yesterday.

I want you to write a letter, from Lubna, to the pebble. Think about the following:

  • What would Lubna ask the pebble about Amir?
  • How would she show empathy towards Amir?
  • How did Lubna show empathy throughout the story?
