Wednesday 17th June

Good morning Hedgehogs.  Thank you for all the work that you have sent so far this week. It is lovely to see your smiling faces on your pictures. Have a fantastic day today!

HEALTHY HAPPY HEDGEHOGS

  • There are lots of people that we miss at the moment because. Talk to an adult at home about somebody that you miss.  Chat with an adult about a way you could make contact with them through a phone or video call, an email or perhaps writing a letter to them.

COMMUNICATION AND LANGUAGE – Discuss the picture of the day from Pobble 365; The Lighthouse

Talk about the bullet points below with an adult.

  • What can you see in today’s picture?
  • The picture is called ‘The Lighthouse’.  A lighthouse is a home in the sea that gives out light so that ships and boats know that they are getting near to land.
  • What do you think it would be like to live in a lighthouse?

LITERACY

  • Retell your innovated story of Little Red Riding Hood using exaggerated (over the top) actions.
  • Watch today’s literacy video where I write the setting description in the story.

  • Owls, Rabbits and Foxes – Read your story opening and then use your story plan to think of a sentence for the setting part of your story. Remember not to make your sentence too long so that you can write it by yourself.
  • Badgers – Draw a picture of the setting in your story. Think of a sentence to describe the setting part of the story. Practise saying your sentence aloud and ask an adult to write it for you.

PSHE

  • Share and enjoy the story of  ‘The Truth about Old People’.

  • Talk about your grandparents. What is special about them? What do you like doing with them?
