Sports Development

Meet our School Sports Organising Crew (SSOC)…

Year 1 Brodie
Year 2 Jonah
Year 3 Libby
Year 4 Liam
Year 5 Theo
Year 6 Amy

Our SSOC help to develop our intra-school sport provision. The group work together, in consultation with their Class Councils to lead the planning and delivery in school competitions, thereby playing a fundamental role in helping develop the School Games. We make sure that our school sport opportunities are accessible for all pupils in our school – so everyone can take part in an activity they enjoy!

What is Our SSOC Responsible For?

The duties of our School Sport Organising Crew include…

  • Working with teachers and Class Councils to organise intra-school competitions and school sport opportunities.
  • Organising a survey to find out what young people think of sport in their school.
  • Reporting back to fellow students at the end of the year on what improvements have been or are going to be made.

We value children’s voice and their skills development in organising, promoting and motivating our children to get involved in PE and school sport. As well as improving the School Games these tasks will also help to develop important life and employability skills for the children involved.

………………………………………………………………………………

As a school, we actively encourage our children to be physically active throughout the school day – not just at playtime and during formal PE lessons.
