World Book Day and the World of Work

March 5, 2020

This year, we celebrated World Book Day in school through a range of activities including sharing our favourite stories and focusing on different jobs which are represented within them. This linked into our work about developing children’s awareness and understanding of the world of work and different career options that exist. As part of the day, we also learnt about a range of career options through a variety of visitors to our school, including…

• Chris – Army Vehicle Mechanic
• Ben – Taylor Wimpey
• Aaron – Police Constable
• Annie – NHS Receptionist
• Tracey – Cake Designer
• Brandon – Director of operations for IT managed service provider
• Jenny and Abbie – Vets 4 Pets
• Fiona – Retired senior lecturer paediatric cardiac intensive care
• Peter – Flight attendant
• Steven – Head of Driver and Dog Training GMP
• Lauren – Lifeguard at Mar Pitts
• Ann-Marie– Research Chemist
• Hayley – Swimming Teacher Marl Pitts

A HUGE THANK YOU to the parents, families and friends of the school who came along and spoke to the children… everyone found it very informative.
